Learning and Research Centre

The Learning and Research Centre (LRC) at Milpark Business School in Melville is a centre for student support and is open weekdays, weekday evenings and on weekends for convenient access to students.
Guidance with regard to information literacy and research skills is provided by our librarians and tutorials can be arranged in the LRC to assist students in learning to navigate and retrieve information from our subscription electronic databases, namely EbscoHost and Sabinet.
Other resources include internet access, printing, faxing and scanning facilities. Our LRC website can be accessed by logging onto the Student’s Interactive Website. It provides admission to our online catalogue, as well as direct access to EbscoHost and Sabinet. Our corporate membership at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Library, allows students to access the resources at UJ Library. This is arranged through the Milpark LRC. We also provide Interlending Services with other libraries at R35.00 per loan.
Research support is available to students during the dissertation process especially when students are researching a possible topic or when doing the literature survey.
Please note that the Librarian will assist with specific requests to borrow material, but unfortunately cannot carry out any research on behalf of students. The Librarian also cannot assist any students requesting general "information" on course programmes or study guides or assist with the completion of assignments. Students must conduct research on their own and may make specific requests for books from the catalogue of the library holdings. We aim to support students by providing access to information as well as professional help in assisting them in honing their research skills.
Computers are available in the LRC for students to use for legitimate assignment work and internet access.
The library in Claremont, Cape Town has similar resources and is also available for use by our students.
